Hot Forming Specialties

Metal Forming Solutions specializes in hot formed fittings, Short Radius & Long Radius, 1″ NPS – 6″ NPS in Carbon, Chrome Alloy, Stainless steel and Nickel Alloy. Special Outside Diameter (O.D.), Wall Thickness (W.T.), and Centerline Radius (C.L.R.) bends (S8, S9 and S58), Eccentric and Concentric Reducers, Transition Nozzles.

We are also pleased to provide further detailed hot forming material specific data upon request.

What is Hot Forming?

Our pipes can be bent in multiple directions and angles. Common simple bends consist of forming elbows, which are bends that range from 2 to 90°, and U-bends, which are 180° bends. More complex geometries include multiple two-dimensional (2D) bends and three-dimensional (3D) bends.

Word Class Metal Forming Standards

ASME and ASTM‘s steel standards are instrumental in classifying, evaluating, and specifying the material, chemical, mechanical, and metallurgical properties of the different types of steels, which are primarily used in the production of mechanical components, industrial parts, and construction elements, as well as other accessories related to them.

These steel standards are helpful in guiding product manufacturers, and other end-users of steel and its variants in their proper processing and application procedures to ensure quality towards safe use.

BUTT-WELD FITTINGS

A Butt Weld Fitting is a pipe fitting that allows for change of directional flow to branch off, reduce pipe size or attach auxiliary equipment. Forged Steel Butt Weld fittings are manufactured in accordance with ANSI / ASME B16.9.

Forged Steel Butt Weld fittings are available as 180° Return Bends, 90° Elbows, Tees, Caps, Reducers and Outlets (olets). These fittings are the most common type of welded pipe fitting in the power generation and refining industries for high pressure applications and are specified by nominal pipe size and pipe schedule.

Pipe is sold from Schedule 5 to Schedule Double Extra Heavy (XXH), Butt Weld Pipe Fittings are sold the same way.

Short Radius (SR), Long Radius (LR), 3R & 5R (Radius = 3x or 5x the Pipe Diameter)
Sch. 5 through Sch. XXH (Sch. 5, Sch. 10, Sch. 40/STD, Sch.80/XH, Sch. 120, Sch. 160 and XXH)
Special Diameter, Wall Thickness, Radius Fittings (S8, S9 and S58)
Ability to maintain Wall Thickness and/or Taper Bore as required by Customer specifications
All fittings are ASME B16.28

Transition (Swage) Nozzles

Nozzles which attach to a header in air cooled heat exchanger
and plays a role of fluid inflow to header.

Transisition Nozzles can reduce header size and can reduce the size of air cooled heat exchanger that used in oil refineries, petroleum plants, and power plants.
